Good news for Sun and Sun's partners: Sun has just agreed to buy MySQL, the famous open-source Swedish database company.
As a long term MySQL user and Sun partner I am very happy for this announcement, which makes the Sun open-source offer even more appealing. Together with OpenSolaris, Netbeans, Glassfish and OpenESB, MySQL will contribute to build the strongest and cheaper technology offer in the market. It also contributes to alleviate most of the community's doubts about Sun's willingness to really build a strong software company.
