There is a long list of supported O.S. by the new JavaCAPS version. In the past the runtime was available on many O.S. but the SeeBeyond eDesigner (IDE), even if based on Netbeans, was for Windows only. The GlassFish runtime is tested with many O.S. already, Netbeans has a different list but we can now say most of the common systems are now supported.
Probably, even if not oficially, it is possible to run it on Ubuntu and other Linux versions as well, maybe with a bit of workarounds (CentOS for example, as it is very close to a full RedHat distribution). I also had some good reports from customers running on VMWare.
